You can find poetry in your everyday life, your memory,
in what people say on the bus, in the news, or just what's in your heart.

Carol Ann Duffy

Sometimes this is it.

I need to stop and consider that fact. Sometimes this is it. This life, this breath, this time. This moment that I'm in right now will never be a different moment, spent in a different way, lived by a different person. It is mine and it's all that it is.

Those every day things don't have to be little or ordinary. Those moments can be our keepsakes.

Those little glimpses into the eyes of our children, the hope, the curiosity, the freedom. Those are ours to see and treasure.

Today I'm taking stock of all the every day things, because one day this won't be my every day. One day I will want all of this back. I'm going to hug them, kiss them, and look them in the eyes. I'm going to keep all these moments pressed to my heart.

  1. You are exquisite, Mel and I will keep YOU pressed to my heart!

    1. Annette, I feel the same way about you! Love you so much!

  2. You're very wise. My babies are grown and on their own now and grandbabies are years away. You'll miss this time but the new things will be wonderful too.

    1. Robin, thank you for your comment! I so look forward to all the things that I am going to get to experience. This time now, is so incredible that honestly I can't even imagine all the wonderful things that lay in store for us. It's exciting.
