Yesterday was a big day here in our neck of the woods. Our sweet little fourth born turned 1. Is it cliche to say, time flies!? It really does. She was born, and now she's 1. She is still crawling most of the time, so I still feel that I have my little baby, but I know that as soon as she begins to walk her babyhood will seem a thing of the past. I'm getting teary, so it's time to move on.
Here are some pictures of her. Her little personality is emerging more and more. I know each kid is different, but the moment you realize how different they are from one another it's still so surprising. How can four kids come from the same two parents and each have such unique personalities.
So here she is, tentative, somewhat serious, and inquisitive.
As soon as this ball came out of the gift bag, Lyriel wouldn't let it go. It's the perfect little ball with spikes that allowed her to grip it easily.
This is not my first go at giving a 1 year old a Birthday cake. We were prepared. Off went the Birthday dress, down to her diaper so she could slather herself in what was quickly going to become mashed Birthday cake mush.
I see a hint of fascination in those pretty eyes.
She decided that it might be fun.
Reactions from the crowd.
Surprisingly there wasn't any in her hair!
After the festivities we enjoyed some time outside around a fire telling stories and eating s'mores. We had Greg's dad, step-mom, and Grandma up for the festivities. It was such a lovely weekend!
Happy Birthday to our littlest! We are so incredibly lucky to be blessed with her sweetness and fun.
